DYNAMIC MULTICAST SPECTRUM (RE) ALLOCATION USING SHARED BACKUP PATH IN ELASTIC OPTICAL NETWORKS

The routing and spectrum allocation (RSA) problem in elastic optical networks (EON) is to first find a path for connection request then allocate frequency slot it. Due continuity contiguity constraints, some available slots cannot be allocated requests. In this case, one solution reassign existing connections accept new ones. However, most current reallocation schemes are proposed unprotected connections. With the very high throughput of EONs (Tb/s per link), requirement protection becoming standard. paper, we examine approach protected multicast allows already used by temporarily using resources. experimental results show an average blocking probability 10% lower than with hoptuning conventional MC-RSA algorithm.
